The 2005 Bankruptcy Law changes have made the bankruptcy process much more complicated. Chapter 7 is the most effective chapter for individuals who can qualify. However, the new Bankruptcy Law has resulted in more cases being required to be filed as Chapter 13 (payment plans) than previously. Laurie Israel meticulously prepares each bankruptcy case by educating her clients about the bankruptcy process, obtaining relevant facts from them, informing them of their options, making sure all matters relating to the client's financial situation are discussed, explored, and dealt with. After careful preparation of the Bankruptcy Petition, Laurie prepares her clients for the creditors' meeting which occurs about a month after the petition is filed. Laurie?s knowledge of bankruptcy and creditor/debtor law also assists clients who come to her about other matters, such as divorce, estate planning and mediation to stay married.
