Laurie Israel interviewed in The Deseret News about how Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey might want to think about their prenuptial agreement
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting married! What kind of prenup should they have? I think a “marriage friendly” one. I and others were interviewed by Jennifer Graham in her excellent article about thinking of a marriage protective prenup for these folks.

Laurie Israel writes about what might be in the Kelly and Matthew Stafford prenup
Kelly Stafford has been in the news lately, talking about the “generous prenup” she signed when she married Matthew Stafford, the NFL star, in 2015. Kelly said that at first she was put off by the idea of a prenup, but that her feelings had evolved, and felt her prenup as “very fiar” and that Matthew was “generous in it all.” approach. In this post, I discuss what may have been the terms of the Stafford prenup.

Laurie interviewed for Yahoo News on the Bezos-Sanchez prenup and the Mackenzie Scott settlement
I was interviewed by Kaitlin Reilly, a journalist for Yahoo News, for an article published on Friday, June 27 about my views on prenups, the Mackenzie/Bezos divorce settlement, and what good prenups should do (and not do). I give Kaitlin many credits and kudos for quoting me correctly (and copiously).

How to Create a Thoughtful and Caring Prenuptial Agreement
I was interviewed by Brian Adams of Mack International about my new book, The Marriage-Friendly Prenup. We covered a number of issues, including issues with Gen 2, marriages and prenups, what the less moneyed spouse brings to the table, the importance of creating marital wealth in a (first) marriage, helping clients understand trusts and family wealth structures, working within mediation as the best way to start the process. Brian did his homework, and this is one of the best interviews. If you listen to one, I highly recommend this one for a listen.
The Marriage-Friendly Prenup — A podcast
The Marriage-Friendly Prenup (forthcoming January, 2025) is a book written by attorney and mediator Laurie Israel that argues that prenuptial agreements are often overused and harmful to marriages. Laurie Israel critiques the traditional, adversarial approach to prenup negotiation and advocates for a more collaborative and generous approach that prioritizes the needs and security of both spouses. The book examines common prenup scenarios, explores the potential for negative consequences stemming from traditional prenup terms, and proposes alternative terms that are designed to foster a healthier and more equitable marriage.
